About Zpack

Based in Abruzzo, a gifted place for Wine Lovers, 3.7 Team of Innovators operates since mid ‘70s

Skilled in optimizing each stage of wine supply and distribution chain, in recent years 3.7 team has been asked by wineries of their area to solve the recurring problem of glass bottle fragility without overpacking, especially in e-commerce fast-moving logistics environment.

Said fragility in bottles is set to increase when their glass will be subject to downgauging in thickness, in line with new market trends that aim to energy-saving measures and sustainability.

Hence, more effective packaging solutions will become a must-have for e-commerce operators in need for uncompromised protection of their products during delivery, avoiding any reason of concern to customers when they order beverages online.

Risk Analysis

An effective packaging system becomes relevant when the possibility of breakage of a bottle during delivery becomes high, like in international deliveries.

Breaking a bottle during delivery leads to direct and indirect costs for both the producer and who is responsible for delivery service.

The cost of a broken bottle during delivery, including cleaning the spill, waste removal, safety issues for employees, replacement, dissatisfaction of customer and damage to supplier’s reputation, is estimated to be approx. 2000 €.

Protection

Each Zpack format, from 1 to 6 bottles, withstands all tests specified in ISTA 6-AMAZON.COM-SIOC protocol for bottle packaging, developed and implemented by largest e-commerce networks. Test reports issued by TÜV for all Zpack formats are available on demand

ISTA1 (International Safe Transit Association) protocols are performance tests designed to provide a laboratory simulation of the damage, by accelerations, applying forces and sequences of logistics environment. ISTA 6-Amazon is a testing procedure developed by ISTA in collaboration with Amazon: it is a general simulation test for packaged-products shipped through Amazon’s distribution system to final customer destinations

Compliance with ISTA 6-Amazon is a basic requirement for shipping packages by Amazon.

Founded in 1866, TÜV is a leading provider of internationally-accredited independent product testing services, in accordance with international standards, through a global network of own testing laboratories.

Certifications provided by TÜV are valid in all countries where corresponding standards are applicable and enforceable.
